THE CONDEMNATION OF FREEMASONRY
BY THE CHURCH OF GREECE
Just because we live in times of brutal censorship by the World Dictatorship of the New World Order, if this video gets "lost", you can find it here:
condemnation of freemasonry by the Greek Orthodox Church https://rutube.ru/video/74e42e5ba0c89f664ee838bceaeafda0/
"The Hierarchy of the Church of Greece,
at its meeting on 12 October 1933,
after undertaking the study and examination of Freemasonry,
of this international secret organization,
and after listening carefully to the introductory report
of the four-member committee of High Priests
set up by the Holy Synod of the just-elapsed period,
as well as the opinion of the Theological School of the University of Athens,
and the attached special opinion on the subject,
of the Professor Mr. Panagiotis Bratsiotis,
having in mind at the same time
the Greek and foreign publications on this issue,
following a debate that has taken place,
has reached the following conclusions,
which were unanimously accepted,
by all the High Priests who form it.
Freemasonry,
is not a mere philanthropic union or philosophical school,
but is a mystical system,
which resembles the old national religions or cults,
from whom it originates
and of which, it is a continuation and a revival.
This, they do not just confess it,
but they also proclaim it with pride,
the most prestigious themselves, of the masters of the Lodges,
and confirm with their own words:
- that "Freemasonry is the only one of the ancient mysteries, who survived
and may be called their guardian"
(Ward, Freemasonry and the Ancient Gods, p. 347-350).
- That Freemasonry "is a direct descendant of the Egyptian mysteries"
(Leadbeater, "The Ancient Mysteries and Freemasonry"
in translation from English, Athens 1927)
- that "the poor laboratory of the Masonic Lodge is nothing else,
but the caves and the shadows of the oaks and the cedars of India
and the unknown depths of the pyramids
and the crypts of the majestic temples of Isis
(G. Sokou, speech in "Pythagoras", vol. 7, p. 13)
- that "The Greek Mystic Mind,
having crossed the enlightened paths of knowledge,
with Prometheus, Dionysus, Orpheus, as lords of the mysteries
has depicted the eternal laws of the Universe. "
(G. Skalieri, see Album for the fifty years of "Pythagoras", p. 136-142)
Besides, this relationship of Freemasonry with the ancient idolatrous mysteries,
is also apparent, from the happenings and the ceremonies in its initiations.
Because, as in the happenings of the old idolatrous mysteries,
the drama of the struggles and the death of the mysterious god was repeated,
and through the imitation and repetition of this drama,
the one who was being initiated, died symbolically,
along with the patron god of the mystery religion,
who was always a mythical person,
which symbolized the sun,
or the nature, dying in the winter, and being reborn in the spring,
as is the case, with the initiation of the third degree of Freemasonry.
Indeed, this initiation,
is a dramatic account of the death of Hiram,
the patron of Freemasonry,
and it is a kind of mimic repetition of this death,
in which, the one who is being initiated, sympathizes with Hiram,
after receiving the same blows,
in the same parts of the body, as Hiram.
(Ceremonies of Symbolic Degrees, Grand East of Athens, 1891, p. 100 et seq.).
As the most prestigious masters of Freemasonry confess themselves,
Hiram is one of the thousands of personalizations of Helios (the sun),
like Osiris, Mithras and Bacchus.
(Clavel, Histoire Pittoresque de la Franc-maconnerie, ed. B ', p. 54 and 56.
Ragon, Rituel du Grade de maitre, p. 9.
Alexe Lenoir, La Franc-Maconiere rendue a veritable origin, p. 266)
Thus, it is proved that Freemasonry is a mystery religion,
completely different, separate and alien to the Christian religion.
Besides, this is obvious, beyond the slightest doubt,
also by the fact, that Masons have their own temples with altars,
which the masters of the Masons characterize, "as workshops,
which can not be devoid of history and holiness, from the Church "
(G. Sokou, Pythagoras Z, p. 19-20)
and as temples of virtue and wisdom,
in whom the supreme Being is being worshiped
and the truth is taught.
(Freemasonic Manual, p. 27).
They have their own religious ceremonies, which are
- the adoption ceremony of a lycopox (little mason) or tectonic baptism,
- the ceremony of marital recognition or tectonic marriage,
- the tectonic memorial,
- the inauguration of a tectonic temple, etc.
The Freemasons also have
- their own initiations
- their own ritual ceremonies,
- their own hierarchical order and
- a certain discipline.
As one could conclude
- and from "freemasonic loves" (symposia)
- and from the celebration of the two solstices, the winter and the summer one
with religious banquets and celebrations,
is a religion worshiping the nature.
And it looks at a first glance
that Freemasonry is compatible with every other religion,
since it is not directly interested,
in what religion, each of it’s initiates belongs to.
This, however, is due to its syncretistic nature,
(*** syncretism is a salad, with mixed elements of various religions)
which also proves that Freemasonry
is a descendant and a continuation of the ancient pagan mysteries,
which also accepted in their initiations,
all worshipers, of whatever deities.
But, like then the mysterious religions
despite the apparent spirit,
of tolerance and hospitality of other deities,
led to syncretism,
and they undermined and broke gradually,
the trust and devotion,
to the cults that existed then,
so is Freemasonry today,
wants to include in her midst,
the whole of mankind,
and as it promises to give
the moralization and the perfection and the knowledge of the truth,
raises itself into a kind of Panreligion,
which considers all (other) religions, inferior to it,
without excluding the Christian faith from this.
It thus cultivates, to her initiates, the impression,
that only within the Freemasonic Lodges,
the processing and grinding is done
of the rough and raw rock (of character).
Besides, by itself, the fact
that Freemasonry creates a fraternity,
which it considers to be superior, than any other fraternity alien to it,
who it considers to consist of ungodly (profane) people,
even if it happens to be Christian,
demonstrates clearly,
her claims, to become a Panreligion.
Therefore, with the Freemasonic initiation,
the "Christian" (who refused Christ), becomes a brother,
of the initiated "Ottoman" (who refused Muhammad),
or the initiated "Buddhist" (who refused Buddha),
or any rationalist,
at the same time, when the Christian, who is uninitiated to Freemasonry,
becomes for him an ungodly (profane) person.
On the other hand, Freemasonry by exalting knowledge
and by fostering free research,
"Putting no limits on the search for the truth"
(according to its Ceremonies and its Constitution)
and in addition, by adopting the so-called natural morality,
comes into sharp opposition to the Christian religion.
Because the Christian Religion,
above all else, exalts faith,
limiting human logic,
within the boundaries set by the divine revelation
and leading to holiness,
through the supernatural energy of Divine Grace.
In other words, while Christianity, as a Religion of revelation,
that has doctrines and truths, both logical and beyond logic (supernatural),
first seeks faith,
and bases its moral structure on the supernatural Divine Grace,
Freemasonry has only physical truths,
in whose awareness it calls its initiates,
through free thinking and research,
with the logic (the reason) as sole tool.
It supports its moral structure
only on the natural forces of man,
pursuing completely natural purposes.
So, once it's clear
the inconsistent opposition between Christianity and Freemasonry,
it is natural, that all the other chaste Churches
were led to confront Freemasonry,
and not only the Western Franc-Popic Church, which, for her own reasons,
with successive papal circulars, seared the Freemasonic movement,
but also the Lutheran and Methodist and the Presbyterian Communities,
have declared its incompatible with Christianity.
Moreover, the Orthodox Church,
which held the treasure of the Christian truth unaltered,
as many times as there was a Freemasonry issue,
stood against it.
Even recently, the Orthodox Commission,
which met at the Holy Mount Athos,
in which they participated with their representatives,
all the autocephalus Orthodox Churches,
they declared that Freemasonry,
"is an anti-Christian and misleading system".
The Hierarchy of the Church of Greece,
at its meeting,
heard and accepted this conclusion, with relief,
from whose study and from the discussion that has taken place,
its blessed President, Archbishop of Athens Chrysostomos,
concluded, with the following words:
"Freemasonry is totally incompatible with Christianity,
as long as it is a secret Association,
which acts and teaches secretly and in a closed circle,
and devises rationalism.
Freemasonry accepts as its members,
not just Christians, but also Jews and Muslims.
Therefore, a clergyman can not be allowed,
to participate in this Association.
I think, every clergyman, who participates in this Association
is worthy of despairing.
This must be proclaimed.
A recommendation must be made, to those who went there,
without paying attention, and without examining what Freemasonry is,
to interrupt any relationship with it,
because only Christianity is the religion,
which teaches the absolute truth
and satisfies the religious and ethical needs of man."
Unanimously and wholeheartedly,
all the Hierarchs of the Church of Greece,
after we approved the above,
we say that Freemasonry is totally incompatible with Christianity,
and that the faithful children of the Church,
they must stay away from Freemasonry.
With steadfast faith in our Lord Jesus Christ,
"Through whom we have
the redemption by His blood,
the forgiveness of misconduct
and the wealth of His Grace,
which was given in surplus between us,
with all wisdom and prudence"
(Letter of Apostle Paul to Ephesians 10: 7-8)
we are the holders of the truth
revealed through Him,
and proclaimed by the Apostles,
"Not by the persuasion of the words of human wisdom,
but with the proof of the Holy Spirit and the Divine Force "
(First Letter of Paul the Apostle to Corinthians 2: 4)
participating in the divine mysteries,
through which they are sanctified
and we are saved into eternal life.
We must not lose the grace of Christ,
participating in foreign mysteries.
It is not at all right,
to belong to Christ,
and to seek away from Him,
redemption and moral perfection.
True and genuine Christianity is therefore
incompatible with Freemasonry.
So, those who happened to get involved
in the initiation of the Freemasonic mysteries,
should from now on, stay away,
from every communication with the Masonic Lodges and their work,
and be sure, that in this way, they renew safely,
their ties to Our One Lord and Savior,
that they broke out of ignorance and bad evaluation of things.
Particularly this, is accepted with much affection,
by the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece,
concerning the initiates of the Lodges,
in the belief that most of them,
have accepted the freemasonic initiation,
without knowing, that through it, they move to another religion,
but on the contrary, from ignorance,
thinking that this has no effect, to the religion of their fathers.
The Hierarchy recommends
to the faithful children of the Church,
sympathy, towards them,
and for no reason hostility and hatred,
inviting them, so that together with the Church,
with Christian love and through their hearts,
to please our Lord Jesus Christ,
which is "the Way and the Truth and Life" (John 14:16)
to illuminate and bring back to the truth,
those who have been deceived by ignorance.
